Quantitative modeling for the interactive simulation of software projects

چکیده
The research project SESAM (Software Engineering Simulation by Animated Models) aims at providing a training environment for future project managers. The basic idea is to create a model of the software development process that can be interpreted by a simulator. The student using the simulator can control the simulated project interactively, leading it more or less successfully. In this paper, the simulation system and the model description language are presented. Then, a new simulation model, the QA (Quality Assurance) model, is introduced. This model covers all activities of software development, from requirements specification to product delivery. The model especially emphasises the effects of quality assurance activities. Finally, simulation results obtained by executing the QA model are presented and discussed.

The purpose of this research was to study the recognition, application and quantification of the risks associated in managing projects. In this research, the management of risks in an oil and gas project is studied and implemented within a case company in Oman. In this study, at first, the qualitative data related to risks in the project were identified through field visits and extensive interv...
متن کاملAn Improved COCOMO based Model to Estimate the Effort of Software Projects
One of important aspects of software projects is estimating the cost and time required to develop projects. Nowadays, this issue has become one of the key concerns of project managers. Accurate estimation of essential effort to produce and develop software is heavily effective on success or failure of software projects and it is highly regarded as a vital factor. Failure to achieve convincing a...
